Cinematic Animals / Sea of Galilee: Sea of Life, 2020 / Films about Animals and Self-Activity Kit in the Museum’s Galleries following the exhibition Theater of Animals
Tel Aviv Museum of Art invites you to experience nature in a variety of unique family activities related to the animal world. In each session we will embark on a wonderful cinematic journey and watch a specially selected film. We will get to know the interesting dynamics between the animals, between animals and humans, and between animals and their natural senses. Each participant will receive a kit for personal activity in the gallery, through which they may learn for themselves how a still image becomes a moving one.

Sea of Galilee: Sea of Life, 2020 | Director: Moshe Alpert, 91 min, Hebrew
A documentary film for children based on twenty years of photography. In the most magical part of the land of Genesis, a jungle-cat cub has lost its mother and has been left alone in the tumultuous jungle of life surrounding the Sea of Galilee. The Sea of Galilee “adopts” her, and the filmmaker follows her until she establishes her own brood. Her story is interwoven with the stories of other animals—in the water, on the land, and migratory birds. The Sea of Galilee is a kind of “Great Mother” to all of these throughout the year, while contending with the change of seasons, the vagaries of weather, and tides. A portrait of one year out of tens of thousands of the lake’s existence as a source of life, this film is a moving cinematic drama about the wildlife in and around the Sea of Galilee, such as never seen before.
About the activity kit
This is personal kit invites the young viewer to choose a painting on display in one of the Museum’s exhibitions, or a detail from it, and disassemble it to create movement. The kit includes a paper pocket in the form of a video camera, an illustrated stills camera with a peephole, a frame wheel for DIY painting, and, of course, instructions for the child and their accompanying adult.
The sessions are suitable for families with children aged 5–10

The number of participants is limited.
Ticket includes a single visit to the Museum and participation in the activity.
The activity takes place near a secure space.
Please note that every participant (including accompanying adults) requires a ticket.
