Cinematic Animals / Ponyo on the Cliff, 2008 / Films about Animals and Self-Activity Kit in the Museum’s Galleries following the exhibition Theater of Animals

Tel Aviv Museum of Art invites you to experience nature in a variety of unique family activities related to the animal world. In each session we will embark on a wonderful cinematic journey and watch a specially selected film. We will get to know the interesting dynamics between the animals, between animals and humans, and between animals and their natural senses. Each participant will receive a kit for personal activity in the gallery, through which they may learn for themselves how a still image becomes a moving one.

Ponyo on the Cliff, 2008 | Director: Hayao Miyazaki, 108 min., dubbed into Hebrew

Ponyo is a small goldfish that lives in the depths of the sea. When she finally manages to rise to the surface, she finds herself stuck in an empty jar and flung ashore—but is saved by Sosuke, a five-year-old boy who takes her home with him in a bucket. Ponyo’s father, a sea wizard who hates the human world, is determined to send her back where she came from, but Ponyo has already fallen in love... And so Ponyo and Susuke embark on an adventure together that will test their courage and friendship. This Oscar-winning masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki is a magical and colorful animated film about a journey of love and friendship at sea and on land.
