Cinematic Animals / Fantastic Mr. Fox, 2009 / Films about Animals and Self-Activity Kit in the Museum’s Galleries following the exhibition Theater of Animals

Tel Aviv Museum of Art invites you to experience nature in a variety of unique family activities related to the animal world. In each session we will embark on a wonderful cinematic journey and watch a specially selected film. We will get to know the interesting dynamics between the animals, between animals and humans, and between animals and their natural senses. Each participant will receive a kit for personal activity in the gallery, through which they may learn for themselves how a still image becomes a moving one.

Fantastic Mr. Fox, 2009 | Director: Wes Anderson, 87 min., English with Hebrew subtitles

Fantastic Mr. Fox has known better days—when he used to raid nearby farms and steal chickens, or when he snuck into the farmer’s house and drank from the cider they had made. However, Mr. Fox has become a father, and is obliged to be “more mature” and “responsible.” Struggling to change his ways, he embarks on one last caper, for which he gathers his best friends. Wes Anderson’s excellent film uses traditional stop-motion animation and intricate set design coupled with a surprising and refreshing of humor that is suitable for young and old alike.

The film has not been commercially released in Israel, so this is a rare opportunity to see it on the big screen.
* Please note: The film is in English and is not dubbed into Hebrew, but features Hebrew subtitles.

The sessions are suitable for families with children aged 5–10
