Zik Group: Minaret of Defense

The works of Zik Group, active in Israel since the 1980s, range between giant installations, burning performances, dance and movement, sculpture and paintings, music and sound. Minaret of Defence, a site-specific 25-meter tower designed especially for the Museum’s Lightfall, represents the dramatic changes—physical-architectural as well as demographic and security ones—undergone by Tel Aviv, a city where the guarding/threatening towers of the IDF Rabin Camp stand alongside office towers and minarets.
