Maayan Elyakim: Sun, Dial

The exhibition presents novel perspectives on myths and traditions from the distant past, by placing them in new, contemporary contexts. It is underpinned by a wide range of images, sources of inspiration and ideological and visual references.

At the heart of it is a large-scale mural simulating the façade of a building in an eclectic architectural style, in front of which are two display platforms with works of art in a variety of media and techniques. Sun, Dial brings together numerous crafts of the past, creating an inverted reflection of an era in which hardly any crafts remain.

The exhibition was made possible through the support of the Israel Lottery Council for Culture and Arts, Artport, and the Nata Dushnitsky-Kaplan Foundation
