Izhar Patkin: The Wandering Veil

A series of screen paintings, originating from a collaboration between Izhar Patkin (living in the USA since 1977) and exiled Kashmiri poet Agha Shalid Ali (1949–2001), is at the center of the exhibition. Multi-nationality, politics of identity, arrativeness, a mixture of high and low culture, heatricality and decorativeness have been at the core of Patkin's work since his early days.
This show is a joint effort of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and The Open Museum in Tefen, and will travel to MASS MoCA in 2013.
