Dani Gal: Night and Fog/As from Afar

Night and Fog, 2011

On 31 May 1962, a police boat sailed from Jaffa to scatter the ashes of Adolf Eichmann beyond Israel's territorial waters. In Night and Fog (2011), Dani Gal reconstructs scenes from that night, based on interviews with Michael Goldman-Gilad. The film As from Afar (2013) dramatizes imaginary scenes based on the real relationship between Simon Wiesenthal and Albert Speer; their encounter takes place in a house in Vienna, designed and built in 1926 by Ludwig Wittgenstein and architect Paul Engelmann.
