Admission includes a visit to the exhibition and a movie.

Told through Monet’s own words in his letters and other private writings, and shot on location at the very spots he painted, this film offers new insight into the man who became one of the most influential artists of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Monet’s life is a gripping tale about a man who, behind his sun-dazzled canvases, suffered from depression, loneliness, and even thoughts of suicide. However, as his art developed and his love of gardening led to the glories of his garden at Giverny, his humor, insight and love of life are revealed.

This film series is presented in collaboration with the Jerusalem Cinematheque. It includes a selection from the unique series Exhibition on Screen, which presents some of the most influential and fascinating exhibitions held around the world. Through cinematic exploration of the corridors of museums and insights from the world’s leading historians, curators, and art critics, the films take the viewer on fascinating journeys into portrayals of the greatest artists and their work.
