Movie Night at Tel Aviv Museum of Art / Ilya and Emilia Kabakov: Enter Here | dir. Amei Wallach (2013)

The Museum is delighted to launch a new series of events linking its ongoing exhibitions with movies from Israel and abroad. Once a month, we will screen a movie relating to a prominent exhibition, preceded by an introductory lecture by either a curator of the exhibition or one of its featured artists.
The series program is linked to the exhibition program;
we recommend visiting the exhibition before viewing the movie!

Ilya and Emilia Kabakov: Enter Here | dir. Amei Wallach (2013)
103 minutes, Russian with Hebrew subtitles

Ilya and Emilia Kabakov are considered today among the most prominent creators in the international art scene. The film examines the artistic journey of the couple, from their early beginnings to their recognition as pioneers of installation art. Through interviews with the Kabakovs, their friends, and acquaintances, the film provides a rare glimpse into the creative process of artists whose work challenged the boundaries of art and architecture. The documentary also delves into the private lives of the Kabakovs, including their experiences under Soviet rule and their emigration to the West. A thought-provoking film about the Kabakovs' legacy and the impact of their work on the contemporary art world

Preceded by a short lecture by curator of the exhibition, Shahar Molcho.
We recommend visiting the exhibition “Ilya and Emilia Kabakov: Tomorrow We Fly” before watching the film.
