From Cello to Electric Guitar / A Special Gallery Concert at the Exhibition Moï Ver/Moshe Raviv: Modernism in Transition
A special event as part of the 'Friday Delight in the Gallery' series, combining art and modern music.
Start your weekend a little differently!
A gallery concert featuring hits from the 17th to the 20th century—a performance that begins with the sounds of a cello and ends with an electric guitar. The concert will include some of the finest musical pieces, from 'Dido's Lament', the monumental aria from the Baroque opera 'Dido and Aeneas' (Henry Purcell, 1689), to 'Una furtiva lagrima' from the Romantic opera 'L'elisir d'amore' (Gaetano Donizetti, 1832), and even 'Can't Help Falling in Love' (famously performed by Elvis Presley)—all accompanied by live singing.
As part of the event, a special guided tour of the exhibition Moï Ver/Moshe Raviv: Modernism in Transition will take place (at no extra charge, subject to prior registration). The tour will shed new light on interdisciplinary connections between music and visual art and explore how both evolved with the dawn of modernity in the 20th century.
