Summer Course for Adults | A lecture in a lecture room
"I have spent my life trying to determine the extent of the influence of my father upon me" / film director, Jean Renoir, on his painter father, Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
This series of lectures will delve into the intergenerational contexts that exist within the revolutionary art movement of the late 19th century, and among the artists that came after it. The lectures will not only explore the technique and style of the Impressionist artists, but aim to reveal the family connections, as well as the profound influences on younger artists by their predecessors.
